Pioneering in tunnel construction
The interior work on the tunnel project as a whole will involve using Collano adhesive to install 220,000 m2 of plastic sheeting material. A trendsetting process is taking place in the 5-kilometer Islisberg highway tunnel in Switzerland. The plastic waterproof barrier between the two tunnel linings is being mechanically attached with adhesives. An automated assembly rig cleans and dries the concrete substrate, applies adhesive to the back of the plastic sheeting as it is unrolled, and presses it against the inside face of the outer lining. Thus, the barrier sheeting in widths of 2 to 2.5 meters can be mounted in a single pass. more
